Format · Incentive trips

Reward, where it counts.

Scripted reward trips across Portugal. A density of memorable experiences within a short radius: private Douro cruise, fado dinner in an 18th-century wine cellar, whale watching, vertical tasting of Madeira wine. Storytelling, not just travel.

Section 01 — Why Portugal

Portugal is a ground of high narrative density.

A reward trip must leave a mark. In Portugal, the 'wow' moments are clustered within a short radius: one flight to shift from the Tagus to the Douro, from the Douro to Madeira, from Madeira to the Azores. The local storytelling, navigators, fado, discoveries, vineyards, fuels powerful narratives. That's what an incentive is for: not a list of activities, a trajectory.

Section 02 — Premium experiences

Six regions, eighteen experiences.

Three signature experiences per destination, calibrated for a premium incentive. Combinable across 3-to-5-day programmes: Lisbon in the morning, Sintra in the afternoon, Douro the next day.

Lisbon & Sintra

Capital & palaces.

  • Private dinner in a Lisbon palace: state rooms, head table and live fado
  • Private regatta on the Tagus: skippered J70 fleet, quayside briefing, a three-hour regatta
Porto & Douro

Vineyards & rabelos.

  • Full-day Douro cruise: terraced landscapes, lunch on board
  • Hands-on harvest: traditional grape-stomping, dinner with a winemaker (Sept-Oct only)
Algarve

Cliffs & fairways.

  • Corporate golf tournament on a signature course: engraved trophy, awards ceremony
  • Benagil caves by private yacht: sunset cocktail, anchored in a hidden cove
  • Gastronomic dinner at a private beach club, facing the ocean
Alentejo

Plains & stars.

  • Dark Sky evening in Alqueva: stargazing, dinner under the stars
  • Lusitano horse: Portugal's equestrian tradition, farm lunch on an estate
  • Weekend at a design herdade: a reimagined former farm, design, wine, slow
Madeira

Levadas & cellars.

  • Vertical tasting of Madeira wine: 100 years of vintages, master class with a sommelier
  • Afternoon tea at a century-old palace facing the Atlantic: terrace and English tradition
Azores

Volcanoes & whales.

  • Diving at Princesa Alice: underwater seamount 80 miles offshore, manta rays, giant groupers
  • Exclusive Furnas cozido: dish cooked in volcanic soil, private table by a crater lake
  • Climb Pico, Portugal's highest peak (2,351m): guided trek, sunrise panorama

Section 05 — FAQ

Incentive-specific questions.

Five recurring questions about the incentive format.

01 How many destinations to combine on an incentive?

Over 3 days: a single destination (Lisbon, Porto, Algarve, or Madeira). Over 4 days: two combinable destinations: Lisbon+Sintra, Porto+Douro, Lisbon+Comporta. Over 5 days: three locations is feasible: for example Lisbon, Douro, and a gala return to Porto. The more you multiply, the more you dilute the narrative. Our recommendation: less, but better-scripted.

02 What budget for a premium incentive in Portugal?

Indicative all-in budget (flights excluded, 5★ hotels, premium transfers, scripted dinners, 2 premium experiences per day, professional capture, Solcanto team): €1,200–1,800 per person per day in Lisbon or Porto, €1,400–2,200 in the archipelagos (Madeira, Azores), €1,600–2,800 with helicopter, yacht, or private jet. The incentive format is by nature more expensive than a seminar, the reward investment is what creates the effect.

03 Private bookings: cellars, palaces, beach clubs, really possible?

Yes, it's the heart of the incentive format. We work directly with Vila Nova de Gaia cellars, palaces (Palácio da Bolsa), Douro quintas, and beach clubs along the southern Alentejo coast and Algarve. A private booking means exclusive access for your group on the reserved slot, with no other public present. Lock in 6 to 12 months ahead depending on the venue.

04 How do you handle weather on an outdoor incentive?

Every outdoor activity has a documented plan B before signing: regatta on the Tagus → private Tagus-view room with seafood tasting; Benagil kayak → cataplana workshop in a fishing village; harvest → port master class in a cellar. Plan B is tested during the site visit and included in the quote. Decision made D−1 or D by our on-site team after IPMA weather brief, at no extra cost.
