Section 01 — Positioning

Madeira is the eternal spring: a subtropical island, open all year round.

Five hundred miles southwest of the mainland, Madeira lines up dramatic cliffs, levadas (over 1,600 km of canals turned hiking trails), a flower-filled capital, Funchal, and a one-of-a-kind fortified wine. Four hours from Paris, eighteen to twenty-five degrees year-round: an immersive, dependable event destination, summer and winter alike.

Section 02 — Key facts

The island, the levadas, the wine.

Three readings of Madeira: the volcanic relief, the trails and Funchal, the wine and the ocean. All on a single island, open all year.

i.

The volcanic island.

The relief rises fast and drops sheer into the ocean.

  • A volcanic island, peaking at Pico Ruivo (1,862 m), subtropical micro-climate of 18–25 °C all year
  • Laurisilva forest, UNESCO-listed natural World Heritage
  • Cabo Girão, Europe's second-highest cliff (580 m), with a panoramic skywalk
ii.

The levadas & Funchal.

You walk beside the water, you slide down by toboggan.

  • Over 1,600 km of levadas, irrigation canals turned hiking trails
  • Funchal: a flower-filled capital, the Monte–Funchal panoramic cable car, tropical garden
  • Carreiros do Monte: a traditional 2-km wicker-toboggan descent, steered by two carreiros
iii.

The wine & the sea.

The table and the ocean do the rest.

  • Madeira wine, a unique fortified wine: aged by estufagem or canteiro, vintages up to 150 years old

Section 06 — FAQ

Questions about Madeira.

Two recurring questions about the destination since 2024. If yours isn't here, write to us.

01 Is Madeira reachable on a direct flight from Paris?

Yes. Several airlines run direct Paris–Funchal flights, taking around 3h40 to 4h. In high season, frequencies increase and direct flights also operate from Lyon, Nice, Brussels and Geneva.

02 What's the best season for a seminar in Madeira?

Madeira is a year-round destination. The most pleasant months for MICE are April–June and September–November. Winter stays mild (18 to 22 °C), making the island one of the few 'warm' destinations in Europe from January to March.
