Plenaries, by the Tagus.

Tailor-made seminars across Portugal, from the two-day urban session to the five-day international convention. Infrastructure rigour and emotional setting, no trade-off between the two.

Section 01 — Why Portugal

Portugal aligns rigour and emotional pull.

On one side: dense hotel infrastructure (3★ to 5★), supplier professionalism, English-Portuguese bilingualism, direct flights under three hours from most European capitals. On the other: a mild climate nine months a year, a diversity of settings within a 2-hour drive, cosmopolitan capital, UNESCO vineyards, Alentejo plains, subtropical island, and a cuisine that turns every closing dinner into a memorable moment.

Section 02 — Standard formats

Four lengths, four intents.

Each format has its own logic. The longer the stay, the further the scenography can stretch, from executive city break to international convention with companion programme.

2j / 1n

Executive city break

Board off-site, leadership brainstorm. Afternoon arrival, strategic dinner, plenary the next day, evening return.

Lisbon · Porto · 10 to 40 pax
3j / 2n

Classic seminar

The most common format. Plenaries and workshops by day, half-day incentive (tuk-tuk, fado, Belém), closing gala dinner.

All destinations · 30 to 150 pax
4j / 3n

Seminar & extension

Urban plenaries then a nature pivot: a day at a Douro quinta, a night in an Alentejo herdade, or a retreat in Sintra. Two atmospheres, one thread.

Lisbon+Alentejo · Porto+Douro · 50 to 200 pax
5j / 4n

International convention

Large format with companion programme. Convention centre (Altice Arena, Alfândega), simultaneous interpretation, closing gala, personalised airport transfers.

Lisbon · Porto · 200 to 1,200 pax

Section 06 — FAQ

Seminar-specific questions.

Five recurring questions about the seminar format. If yours isn't here, write to us.

01 What's the ideal length for a seminar in Portugal?

The 3-day / 2-night format covers most needs: arrival and plenary day, mixed plenary + half-day incentive, gala dinner, return on the third day. For a board, 2 days / 1 night is enough. For an international convention or companion programme, plan 4 to 5 days.

02 Lisbon or Porto for a seminar?

Lisbon suits urban, cosmopolitan formats, with natural extensions to Sintra, Cascais or Comporta. Capacity up to 1,200 pax in major convention centres. Porto is ideal for more intimate formats (up to 400 pax), heritage- and wine-tourism-oriented, with the Douro Valley as an exceptional extension. At equivalent quality, Porto is usually 10–15% cheaper than Lisbon.

03 What budget per attendee for a Portugal seminar?

Indicative all-in budget (accommodation, transfers, meals, one activity per day, Solcanto coordination): €350–450 per person per day in a 4★ hotel, €450–650 in 5★ or a private quinta, €250–350 in a city-centre 3★. At equivalent quality, Portugal is 15–30% below comparable destinations in France or Italy.

04 What room formats for what headcounts?

20 to 80 pax: modular 4★/5★ hotel rooms, industrial lofts (LX Factory in Lisbon), palace salons (Palácio da Bolsa in Porto). 80 to 250 pax: hotel ballrooms, private conference centres, Douro quintas. 250 to 1,200 pax: Centro Cultural de Belém, Altice Arena (up to 20,000 pax), Alfândega in Porto, MEO Arena. All equipped with professional AV and simultaneous interpretation booths.

05 How far in advance should we book?

For a 3-day format in standard season (April-June, September-October), plan 4 to 6 months ahead. For a 5★ or private-quinta format in high season, 8 to 12 months. For the Douro harvest (mid-September to mid-October) and major Lisbon conventions in May-June or September-October, plan 12 to 18 months. For a 2-day board off-site, we frequently meet 6-8 week deadlines if you're flexible on destination.
