UNESCO heritage, port-wine cellars and terraced vineyards: Porto and the Douro Valley form one of Portugal's most striking settings for a corporate event. Here's how.
Porto or Lisbon
Porto cultivates intimacy. Where Lisbon unfolds large urban headcounts, Porto suits formats up to 400 people, heritage- and wine-oriented, with the Douro Valley as an exceptional setting. At equivalent quality, the city is often 10 to 15% cheaper than the capital.
The old town
UNESCO-listed since 1996, the heart of Porto lends itself to prestige dinners and signature evenings.
- The Ribeira’s picturesque quays on the Douro, and the Dom Luís I bridge designed by a pupil of Gustave Eiffel
- The Palácio da Bolsa and its Arab Room, one of Europe’s most striking gala settings
- São Bento station and its 20,000 azulejos, the Lello bookshop, the gilded São Francisco church
Vila Nova de Gaia and the cellars
On the opposite bank, the historic cellars host gala dinners and tastings. A port pairing to close a seminar remains one of the most appreciated moments.
The Douro Valley is the world’s oldest demarcated wine region, and one of Europe’s most photographed landscapes.
The Douro Valley
East of Porto, the Douro rolls out its UNESCO-listed terraced vineyards. A private rabelo cruise, the historic Porto-Pinhão train, hands-on harvest from mid-September to mid-October: so many memorable incentive experiences. Full details on our Porto & Douro page.
How long to plan
To include the Douro, plan at least one night there. A 4-day / 3-night format works well: two nights in Porto (plenaries, heritage, gala) and one night at a quinta (cruise, tastings, dinner with a winemaker). Tell us about your project: a costed answer within 48h.
